While the validity of “like dissolves like,” the principle behind oil cleansing, is sketchy at best, oil-based cleansers certainly are more efficient at removing makeup in personal experience.
This mild cleansing oil from Trader Joe’s has a nice, mild fragrance and rinses away everything from a set of penciled eyebrows to full face makeup. In my two weeks of using it, it’s left my skin soft and hydrated without the need to apply other moisturizers on top.
The first ingredient is a good one– it’s basically a mixture of coconut oil and glycerin. Making our way down the list of ingredients we find sunflower oil and rosemary leaf extract, among others.
It’s rare for me to be disappointed by an Trader Joe’s product, so there’s no surprise here that I’d recommend this cleanser.
While $6.99 seems a bit steep for a small bottle, a little really does go a long way and is a great way to combine an all-purpose cleanser with a makeup remover.
(By the way, I apologize for these pictures.)
